Wagon derails in Bhairab

Early Friday, a wagon belonging to a Dhaka-bound freight train was thrown off the tracks at Bhairab Upazila.

As the track was blocked, no train could run for more than five hours.

Around 12:30am, the wagon of the Dhaka bound freight train derail in Jagannathpur of Bhairab Upazila.

Officials reported that a relief train team saved it around 5:00 AM.

Mohammad Khairul Kabir (divisional transportation officer, railway east zone), told New Age that the wagon had been rescued immediately.

He said that no one was hurt in the incident.

Official said that the railway authorities created a four-member committee headed by the assistant transportation officer of Dhaka Division to investigate the incident.
